Was getting in a proper tizz with DD2 (8weeks). She'd only nap in her sling, with me walking up and down, and occasionally with a dummy. I was getting bad backache and poor DD1 was severely neglected! Finally decided enough was enough and put her in her moses basket in her room. 5 minutes of half hearted crying- and asleep! Properly! For ages! Now all I do is watch for a few yawns, stick her in the cot and that's it. PLEASE TRY IT!!!

ex banker,im not brave enough to do it but i do find this as good,i put dd 9wks in her pram when she is tired in the day,i wlak away and she starts to fuss,i leave her a little whils then go back and push the pram a few times and she's gone,i feel im still helping her to sleep without being on me and can always reduce the pushing,it has helped at night too as she sleeps in her basket but willl self settle if she wakes up.Good luck.
