16mth old waking cos she's bashing against the cot

I've tried looking at various cot bumpers but they're too thin and she'd still bash herself. I've also tried rolling up a couple of towels but she rolls over them - she really really moves around. Does anyone know of any particularly thick cot bumpers or do you have any other solutions? (not looking forward to her having a 'grown up' bed!)

From about 9mths old DD slept in a travel cot for exactly this reason.

It felt a bit 'cruel' for a few nights (PFB without her princess and the pea style mattress Shock), but she slept so well she never went back into her wooden cot.

She's in a toddler bed now, with a half-length rail at the head end, as she still a right fidget-pants @ 3.10yrs!

Actuallly that's what I'd planned to do as a temporary measure - since when we went away in Feb apart from the first two nights she slept through the whole fortnight and its taken me until now to put 2 and 2 togther. Post 4 kids I can no longer have any claim to be the brightess crayon in the box! Hmmmm given that the travel cot is really old this might be a better investment.

We have done this. Just put your regular mattress in the travel cot and it should be very comfy.
