Gah! Anyone else struggling to settle their babies since the clocks went forward?

I've spent weeks gently, gently teaching DS to settle in the cot at bedtime, and had him drifting off beautifully every night within 10 minutes and with no tears, but the last two nights, since the sodding clocks have gone forward, he will not go to sleep and screams at me when I turn the lights out! As soon as I put the lights on he's smiling and gurgling, but is getting hideously overtired. Anyone else having this? We have blackout blinds in his room - it is a tiny bit lighter in there than usual but not much.

Yep, utter pita!

My DD2, 9 months old tomorrow slept for 20 minutes in the car today at midday and has not napped the rest of the day.

I am feeling your pain!

What a total arse this is! He's gone off fine now - an hour later than usual. No doubt I'm going to have a tedious week bringing his bedtime back by 10 minutes every night until we're back at 7pm!

David Cameron is currently trying to pass a motion (he he, love that phrase - image of him straining and going red in the face) in Parliament for us to adopt Berlin Summer Time - that's a two hour change, twice a year. Shock

at idea of Dave passing a motion. And two hours Shock - how utterly ridiculous! He has a baby, he should bloody know what an utter ballache this is ... :)

It does get better as they get older. You maybe get two or three clock changes to deal with before that point. I remember, about a week or two in advance of the clock changes, putting bedtime back or forward 10 minutes as appropriate. So when the clock changed there was no big leap either way. But then I was slightly sleep-obsessed being a SP :)

BTW... babies are the least of anyone's worries when the perennial 'to Summertime or not to Summertime' debate comes around. Road safety campaigners point out that more schoolkids die on dark roads at 4pm, leaving school. But then Scottish farmers say they don't want to milk their cows in the dark first thing in the morning or some rubbish. And the upshot is that nothing changes.

Chil I am totally sleep-obsessed too - not sure how this one passed me by Confused - I just didn't think he'd notice for some reason!
