my son is 7 months old and his sleep has been a nightmare for about 5 weeks now. before this he was self settling at bedtime and sleeping for 11- 12 hours. he then developed eczema and was prescribed an antihistamine to help with the itching. this made him extremely constipated to the point where he has had only 3 proper poos in the last 5 weeks.

we have been watering down his bottles and reduced the amount of solids he is getting. because of this he started waking for night feeds again. I don't have a problem with the feeds but he takes on average 2 hours to settle after a feed and will only sleep on his front.

he is a lovely smiley, bubbly boy during the day but is a handful during the night. my partner and I both work full time and desperately need our sleep.

any advice would greatly appreciated!
p.s. sorry for the terrible grammar and punctuation - it's 50 percent sleep deprivation and 50 percent typing on my phone!

if he's constipated he will have tummy ache and it sounds like he is hungry too. hard to sleep! can you try offering more fruit and water instead of watering down bottles?

did he develop eczema after eating a new food? does the anti-hist work? asking because I had eczema as a child if I ate certain foods but wasonly ever prescribed creams.

When DS was constipated the dr had me give him corn syrup. Maybe that would help? Poor little man! Hope he feels better soon.

Has he recently changed onto formula from breastmilk? Or from stage 1 onto second stage milk? Wondering if the development of eczema and poor sleeping could be linked to this if so.
