12mo, rolling & standing @ bedtime - WTF and what to do?

So he's been going down like a dream for the last few months, but all of a sudden when I lay him down he'll roll onto his side, drop off to sleep, then roll onto his tummy, crawl to the side of the cot and stand up.
For the last 3 nights I've had to lay him down again (and repeat and repeat) more than 20 times!
What is this mad behaviour, and how can I help him settle again?
Anyone have any ideas?

Mine did this, drove me nuts, but it was short-lived. I was a mean horrible mummy and just ignored him after the second night laying him down 50 million times - he lay down by himself eventually and it was never a problem after that!

I think it's developmental as he started walking the week after.

Ah, thanks! Yes he's on the verge of walking so that's probably it. I don't think I can leave him when he stands up though coz he cries uncontrollably - it's annoying him as much as me it seems! Thanks for the reply! Smile
