My DS2 was born mid Oct and started waking at night for an extra feed. He stopped doing it in the last couple of weeks. Hate to say it but 4months is a classic growth spurt time. Good luck !

Waking in the night is not necessarily a sign he needs solids and most people I have spoken to / read on here say it doesn't actually help them sleep better (see here for good NHS leaflet about weaning) - they have a huge amount of development going on at this age which might be why they start to wake more.

It is a knacker though!

I wish my 5 month old would sleep 2-3 hours. He managed intervals of 45-60 mins for the last two nights (admittedly he's ill), but normally it's 1-2 hours.

Sadly he's not ready for solids, so we'll just have to keep at it :(

Good luck with it, I hope solids work for you!

How long has he been waking for?

What is your daytime routine like? When does he wake sleep etc?
