Rubbish daytime naps and rubbish night time sleep

Don't know what to do anymore. Daytime naps consist of 3 x 30 mins then screaming, thought we were turning a corner with night time sleep, having a dreamfeed at 11 and going through until 5am for a week, once 7am and once 7.30 am but DS has now gone back to waking every hour or so from 2am. I swaddle him, play white noise, routine of bath, bottle, bed at 7pm. He is not feeding well again (has reflux controlled nicely with gaviscon) I have tried feeding him at 2 am but he is still waking every hour until 7am and does not seem hungry. He is 17 weeks. Can it be 4 month sleep regression even though he has always been a bad sleeper? Don't know what else to do and its driving me mad. Only time he seems settled is when I am holding him. Are some babies just bad sleepers whatever you do?

If he's not feding well, are you sure the reflux is well controlled by gaviscon alone? Or possibly he is coming down with some bug or other? I feel for you.

feeding, duh.

I think he may have a bug as he has had nasty nappies today. He improved a bit last night waking at 2 then 4.45 and then did not really settle. Any ideas on day time naps?
