Slumber bear for an older baby, any point trying? 5 months

DD has started to sometimes sleep through. But its all a bit random and still getting bad nights, wakings sometimes during lighter part of the sleep cycle (last night hourly for 3 hours) it takes a *shhhhhh go sleepy' from me and occasional cuddle, will the bear thing do audio comforting for me, or is this just going to work for a tiny baby? (Its def not hunger, too close to the dream feed and isn't hungry in the morning as it is)

I understand they come on when there is noise/movement, and a message can be recorded by mum/dad. (kind of wish I knew about this before!)

Will be watching this with interest. Bought it when DS was 4 months old and a terrible napper back then but ditched it after two half-hearted attempts when it made no difference whatsoever. Am thinking about trying it again now at 9 months but have a feeling, like you, that it works mainly for tiny babies.
We are also trying our luck with a cot lightshow, currently on order from Amazon. Will let you know if this makes any difference.
Hopefully someone with some positive experience to share will come along.

Hey, sorry to resurrect an old thread, but did either of you (or anyone else out there!) have any luck with the slumber bear? Am considering buying one having read the recent 'it's a miracle!' thread.

My DS is 6 months old and has just gone into the cot in his nursery. So we need all the help we can get! Grin
