Do you wake your baby in the mornings

I am loosely following Gina Ford with DD (17 weeks), she is waking for a feed between 4am -5.30am and then settles back to sleep. According to Gina our day should start at 7am, but dd is never awake then. So should I wake her? or leave her to sleep? and if I do what effect will this have on her bedtime? - at the moment she is asleep by 7pm every night and I don't want to mess that up.

She isn't a great napper, averaging about 2hours per day, so maybe she needs more sleep in the mornings.

Does anyone elses dd/ds sleep much more than 12 hours a night?

I started the Baby Whisperer about three weeks ago. My four and a half month old was waking twice a night and never had more than one 45 minute nap a day and was EXHAUSTED by the end of the day. By day three of waking him at 7am to feed regardless of previous feed time (even 5am), he slept through the night and has done ever since. By the end of the first week he was taking three 45 minute naps without me rocking him or using a dummy and this week he has started taking a 1 1/2 hour nap in the morning and a 2 hour nap in the afternoon. If you want to do it, do it.
