Do all babies sleep regress? Planning a holiday/worried about clash...

My DS turned 12 weeks today. We're planning a trip (transatlantic which = jet lag) around 5.5 months. He was poorly when born, so still playing catch up. Currently he's a fab sleeper 7-6 with 2 feeds but what are the chances he'll have sleep regression? I heard about 4 month sleep regression - do all babies go through it? And why does it happen? And what are the chances of him going through it a bit later if he's playing catch up...?

Can't bear the idea of making big trip abroad and not being able to get any sleep...

None of my 3 did, I've only ever heard of 4 months sleep regression on MN. I guess some do and some don't. Jet lag inducing flights do tend to make a bit of a mess of children's sleep patterns though, but there's not a whole lot you can do about it beyond the same as an adult coping with jet lag - i.e try immediately to swap his routine to the current time zone as much as possible as trying to fit in around the previous time zone just prolongs the agony.
