DS is now 2yrs and 4months, he has never slept brilliantly and we now have a double mattress on the floor in his room so that I can go through to him when he wakes through the night as it helps him go back to sleep. Not ideal but after trying loads of things it seemed like the best way to get at least some sleep. Now he seems to think that 2.30am is morning - eek! Took him to nursery this morning at 9am and he had been up for 6 hours already!! don't know what to do, am on my knees with tiredness - has anyone had a similar experience and solutions? Hope you can let me know - thanks.

We had this with our Ds at 2 1/2 yrs and I'm sorry but we have no great words of wisdom. At the time we were too busy dealing with my DD who was 4 months and constantly wakening with reflux and we didnt have the energy to battle with him as well! To be honest we just had to wait it out! It may have been his teeth (but he never complained) and it went on for a few months. I tried star charts but they didn't work and eventually he just started sleeping again. You have my sympathy as well!

At 2 years old he should be able to understand the 'gro clock'.

They sell them on amazon and they're brilliant. Digital clock that has moon and start for night time and sunshine for day time (comes on at a time you choose). It will help him see what the time is as it were.

Also - I presume you have cut out all his naps???

what time does he go to bed? also what timeis his last meal and what kind of things is he eating then?
