DD 25 months...move to sleep in bed from cot?

I want to get out DD who is now 25 months to sleep in a proper toddler bed rather than her cot - what tactics should I use to get her in to that routine? The cot and bed are in her room now and she 'play' sleeps in the bed during the day so she is aware of it - any tips?

Is there a reason why you want to do it so soon? We did it around then and I wish we'd waited. She went from being happy to play in her cot for half hour when she woke up to demanding to be let out of her room straight away when she was in a bed.

We just made a big fuss of little DS at the time. Lots of excitement about being a 'big boy' etc. He loved it to bits. FWIW he still waited for me to come and get him out of the bed in the morning... :)
