Amby Nature's Nest - how to elevate head end for newborn?

Hi there - I've just bought an Amby Nature's Nest after reading lots about their usefulness for babies with colic/wind/reflux problems. My baby is 2 weeks old and weighs around 8lb. We've followed the admittedly pretty useless instructions as best as we can, but when I put my daughter into the middle of the hammock, her head, which I suppose is the heaviest part of her, is definitely lower than her feet, which I'm sure can't be right - especially for a windy baby. I've tried everything in terms of adjusting the hammock fitting itself, but am sure that I must be doing something wrong, or is there a trick to this? Or is it fine for her feet to be above her head?

If there's anyone out there who has an Amby and has used it with a newborn and can advise, I'd be incredibly grateful!

Thank you! Alice

try loosening the ties, then pulling up the head end material and tying again. you may need to do this daily/every other day if its a real problem

alternatively, try laying her down closer to the end of the hammock (foot end not head end) the hammock will then adjust and the head will be lifted a bit

We had the same problem, they're such poor instructions! Adjusting the ties, and the Velcro bits at the top helped, also moving DS closer to the foot end (his shoulders are roughly in the middle now). I tied some books to the end to weight it down, until we figured out better solutions, so that his head was higher than his feet.
