Baby pushes herself to top of Moses basket

Hi, my 12 week old has just started to push herself up to the top of her Moses basket.
Her head is right up against the fabric and she rocks the basket when she's moving herself (like a back crawl!)
When placed at the bottom she's still got room in it, but I'm concerned about how close her face ends up to the fabric.
In the last week it's like she's trying to roll too - is this just part of her development? Is she safe in the basket? Her cot won't fit in our bedroom so I can't move it in...advice please!

If she's moving around that much she isn't safe in the basket, no. Moses baskets have a very short life indeed and she will have to sleep in something more sturdy.

How about having her sleep in her own room if you can't get the cot in?

Thanks. Yes I could try that, it's just she's so young it's nice to have her close by...

My DS did exactly the same thing, so we moved him to the cot at 13 weeks - he had cradle cap and had rubbed his head raw against the top of the basket, so we had no choice really! Now he doesn't wriggle around the cot at all, I guess he's got the space he needs!
