my dd baby, has for the last 2 weeks, slept through the night, she fed him at midnight and its now gone 8.30 and he is still asleep.

do you think it is too long for such a young baby to go so long, without waking for a feed ?

he was slow to feed, she is bottle feeding him,so i think he was just tired at the end of the feed,he could take up to 2 hours, and then the midwife said to change the teat.

he is now having a teat for a 3 month old,a no 2,and the difference is amazing,he feeds in about 20 mins,so as things are going well,do you think its best to leave things, alone.or wake him up ?

My DD was slightly older when she started sleeping through the night - by which I mean from 11 or 12 through to 7am.

I would leave baby to sleep, as long as he feeds well during the day and continues to put on weight.

If he is gaining weight, producing lots of wet and dirty nappies, and alert/content when he is awake, I'd let him sleep.

My DS2 slept through at about 3 - 4 weeks, spoke to HV and midwife and they said to leave him to sleep, if he was hungry he'd wake up.
He made up for it in the day by having big feeds and would only go 3 hours between feeds apart from overnight.
As long as he is gaining weight and alert when awake I'd just leave him.
It was such a change having a baby that would sleep after DS1 that we were more than happy to let him sleep all night

Sounds fine to me DD was doing similar at 4 weeks and sleeping 11-12 hours by 10 weeks. She will be 12 weeks on Fri and I won't tell you what the last couple of nights have been like....Just enjoy the rest, keep him tanked up in the day and keep your fingers crossed it will last Smile
