Help, baby sleepy in day nightmare evenings

I hope somone can help. My 4wk old dd is very sleepy all day, falling asleep on her bottle and not staying up to play on her mat etc, then very alert in evening, which is fine but then becomes overtired, last few nights has been awake from 5 til 10.30 or 11 and very ratty and crying the whole time. She sleeps at night from 10.30/11 to around 3 then again til around 7. I don't feel these fraught evenings are doing anyone any good and feel she should be awake more during the day instead of just one long nap punctuated with feeds which she falls asleep from.

sounds totally normally at 4 weeks to be fair .. in fact she's sleeping very well

babies tend to cluster feed in the evening (tanking up for the night) so I'd suggest just giving her more to eat at night-time

don't worry in a couple of months she'll sort out a better day / night routine

Sounds absolutely fantastic for a 4wk old to me. I know that is not what you want to hear and that the evening is exhausting but believe me my ds wasnt sleeping like that until he was almost a year old and only now goes through from 6.30-4 am, then 4.30-7. Around the 6-12wk mark they tend to go through some major changes in their routines due to maturation and growth spurts so hopefully baby will sort out the evenings a bit.

thankyou I really was worried that she was so fraught in the evenings but if this sounds normal then I guess we go with the flow. I know I am lucky she sleeps so much - bet it will not last forever.
