funny morning noises in sleep

my ds aged 2 months is a noisy little man. He makes very odd noises around 5.30 in the morning as if he is straining & stretching at the same time. He doesnt seem desperate to feed since he isnt really awake but he wakes us up! I worry that he might be asthmatic since it runs in the family or that he has bad wind, but I wind him after his night-time breastfeed. Any suggestions?

Cocoliver, I don't know what causes this but my ds used to do exactly the same. It such a strange sound to come from a little thing isn't it? He will grow out of it.

My ds of the same age does this and usually 5 mins later a little (or large!) package is delivered to his napppy! Keep an eye on it but it's most likely bottom wind which you can't alleviate after the feeds (unfortunately!!)

um, the only thing is that he still fills about 5 nappies a day (the health visitor says he has a fast metabolism!)and normally has no problems 'filling his nappy'. I wish it was over in 5 mins but unfortunately at the moment he keeps it up until I crawl out of bed and do something with him such as change nappy/ feed etc. Wouldnt mind but partner gets up at 6 and dd at 6.30 - just makes rather an early start to the day when he starts doing it about 5.30...

I also had a very noisy baby in this way. One day I just noticed he slept quietly and wondered when he had stopped. Probably about 16 weeks old.
