My toddler now wakes screaming practically every night since the birth of my baby. Any ideas?

I God, I remember this well. How old are theyboth now. There's an 18 month difference between my two, and a couple of weeks after the birth of DD, DS woke every night yelling out for a good two weeks, maybe three. It was a killer - just as you'd finally get the one off to sleep, the other would have you up.

We had a deal that since I was feeding and settling DD, DH would go in to DS. We've always had a policy of keeping night time dealing very perfunctory - go in, make sure all's OK, no chat, just some reassuring words and a quick cuddle if necessary, and then out. So, DH just kept this up, and after 2-3 weeks it stopped just as suddenly as it started, and he's been great ever since, thank goodness.

Good luck! :)

Thanks. There is 18 months between them but my baby is now 5 months old and its not stopped. We do as you did anyway but it doesn't seem to have worked.
