Hi all,

My DS, 20 months, has until now gone down for an afternoon nap following his milk. He usually falls asleep while taking it and sleeps for up to 3 hours. Recently he has been wide awake after milk (although I know he is tired from previous eye rubbing etc etc). His sleep time has been getting progressively later, and we are now putting him down at around 2 (which is fine). We have taken to getting him to sleep in the car when he won't go down by say 230. I know we could wait until he's really tired, but once he's asleep he likes to sleep for about 3 hours, and if he goes down too late we end up having to wake him up so he will go down at night. We put him down awake at night and he goes off by himself no problem. Any advice would be fab cos not sure what to expect at this age (think he's too young to drop the nap?). Sorry for long post !! Thank you !!

Mine gave up naps around that age
three hours is a ling time to sleep
what about moving his bedtime forward to six ish for a while and not worrying about the nap

Or if he's too grouchy take him for a walk in the pushchair

that's interesting - thank you
do you think if i moved his bedtime to 6 ish that he would still sleep through the night?
at the moment he's more or less sleeping 9-7 at night and 2/3 - 5 in the p.m.
