my 9 month old is now on a mattress on the floor in my room. I cant seem to get her into the cot in her own room. She was a great sleeper until the 6months mark and its been hit and miss since then.

I finally night weaned her but she still wakes and startles herself and cant settle without me touching her head or stomach and sometimes putting a dummy in...

so if she is in her own room I have to get up too much. when she is in my room its easier...but when can I reclaim my space?

how do you teach a baby to self settle? get used to being along in her room?

I started much earlier ... about 10 weeks I think.... so I'm not sure it's much help. But we did naps in his own room during the day as well as sleeping there at night so that he got used to waking up with the same view. Thick blackout blind and R4/World Service quietly chatting on the radio. Good luck
