Its been 4 days and I am already really over this. How long was it your baby started sleeping through again, and how long/many times were they up in the middle of the night? Thanks everyone.

DS1 was 20months......but don't let that scare you! DD (and DC1) never had one and slept through from 20 weeks, never had any regressions, teething, illness etc.....

DS is 14 months and has yet to outgrow it, sorry.

So they woke in the middle of the night and STAYED awake for a period of time before going back down from 9 months to 20??? Or just wake up and right back down?

Oh Man, I guess I am really in for it huh? Last night I was able to just lay him down next to me and "play dead" after about an hour or so, but I bet he would have stayed awake for 3 if I would have let him. I read in the Moxie forum that he may start sleeping through again after he begins crawling, but he is only scooting now. I am a single mum, so cant share the night wakingsSad

DS has been very ill so i'd got in a really bad habit of night feeding to settle him. In the end i just gave him water and that would settle him. It wasn't until i threw out his bottles he slept. Obviosuly he like the comfort of the bottle.

FWIW - i might have a dh but might as well be single in the night Hmm

We are at 11 months now and sleep is really up and down. DD started crawling at 9.5 months and obviously hasn't read any memos relating to sleep returning after that.

I think this is just a difficult time for her - she's teething, has picked up a few coughs and sniffles, we've even had a 9 day nursing strike.

She slept incredibly well for a few months and we got used to it - which makes it doubly hard when you hit a regression I think. Now, frankly, 5-6 hours in a row is excellent...although when she wakes, she really wakes - it's not usually a question of a quick cuddle and down again. I remember one lovely night where she went down as normal, then was awake from 10.30-midnight, then 1-5am...nice.

It's very hard, and I take my hat off to anyone who has to do it alone. We keep telling ourselves it will pass, and go to bed super early!

I hope you get some good nights in amongst the bad.
