Why since I have managed to get DD2 to sleep in her cot in the day is she punishing me by waking at 4am?

DD2 is 11.5 weeks. For the past 11 weeks she has only slept on me in the day, but from 4 weeks slept 12-7 fairly regularly at night.

This week I decided to take action and after one session of bouncing her in her hammock for an hour while she cried she suddenly capitulated. Now she will go down with a small protest (and sounds of the Amazon on my iPod Grin).

While this is liberating for me, the past two nights she has woken up at 4am, which sort of negates the break I am getting in the day.

Any idea whether this is just an unhappy coincidence or if there is anything I can do?

No advice I'm afraid- just wanted to let you know you're not alone!

DS is 16weeks and we only cracked the cot nap a couple of weeks ago.

We had a brief halcyon spell of him sleeping at night 6pm - 6pm with only a dream feed at 11ish.

Then he hit 13/14weeks and he's back to dream feed at 11ish, waking for a feed at 2ish and then up, bouncing around and ready to start his day at 4am Hmm.

As far as I'm concerned if ITV is still showing 'the nightscreen' it's still 'the night'. However, I have clearly failed to explain this to DS!

I'm sure it will resolve with time. We just have to hang in there!
