1 yr old, needs longer daytime sleep...but won't

My 1 yr old ds still has a morning nap for about 30-45 mins and then a lunch time sleep for maximum 45- 60 mins. We think he needs a longer sleep because he gets so bad tempered but once he's awake, that's it. Any advice please to get him to extend his lunchtime sleep, should we be cutting out the morning one?

Maybe you could delay the morning nap so he just has one longer lunchtime nap. Have you tried leaving him in his cot to see if he will fall back to sleep?

We have, and he stands up and screams. Perhaps we should try and leave him but I doubt he'd settle.

push back his morning nap and see what happens.
