My 8 month old daughter started sleeping through at about 6 months we were gradually able to drop the dream feed and she slept through from 7-6.30. We really thought we had cracked it until she became ill and went off her food. So as expected we increased her milk feeds and had no choice but to feed her in the night to ensure she was getting adequate nutrition. She is now back on 3 solid meals a day aswell as three bottles of approx 6oz, we have also had to re-introduce the dream feed, however she wakes up once each night and starts off moaning which eventually ends up in a half hearted cry. She seems to have got use to us going in again at night - the last two nights I have tried the controlled crying technique but as she isn't really screaming i'm not sure what I should do. Because she continues to moan and remain awake for over an hour it has started to affect my 3 year old son who is being disturbed by her noise, and obviously I can't settle until I know she is asleep. She wakes at diiferent times but generally after 3 a.m so not sure it's habitual waking - also I think she is getting the right amount of daytime naps. Any thoughts would be very much appreciated xthanksx Confused

My DS has just been through a similar stage. He slept through from about 8.5 months but at just a year we had a period of illness, family probs which meant us staying at MIL's for a few days, and me starting back at work and him starting nursery. Phew!
All we could really do was ride it out. We fed him at night, and gave him cuddles, and he has just started sleeping through again in the last week (touch wood!). So it took about 6 weeks in all. Hang in there!!!
