Can a 15-mth-old really cope on 10 mins nap a day?

DS2 self-settles at bed time but is completely hopeless in the day time. If he's had any sleep at all (eg today 10 mins in the car on the way back from the shops) he thinks that'll do and fights all naps for the rest of the day. Even on good days we rarely get more than half an hour. My mum always tells me that I never napped and neither did my brother. DS1 got quite good at napping in the end, but I can't remember how we got there! I wouldn't mind if he wasn't then so grumpy all afternoon and wanting cuddles, which he's too strong and heavy for. :( I don't feel like I'm coping today.
