Hello all,

We're going on a long car journey tomorrow about 3-4 hours. So far our daughter has enjoyed being in the car and has slept happily in her car seat. If she does this tomorrow should we stop anyway so she is not in
her car seat too long or is it ok to keep going as long as she is asleep? I have heard they shouldn't be in their car seats for too long but how long is TOO long?

Of course she may wake up after an hour and we'll have to stop......

Thanks in advance.

I would just go for it - 3/4hrs will be fine and she may sleep all the way (mine would). If you are bottle feeding and she wakes, one of you could sit in the back and feed her as you go along (obv not if BF)

I am of the opinion just to get there as quickly as possible and minimise the faff factor

Thanks for your advice, the journey took 3 and a quarter hours and she slept the whole way!

I'd rather do a 4 hour car jorney with a newborn any day than with a 11, 9 and 7 year-old! Now THAT's a horrible prospect, trust me.

Glad it went well.
