Not normal?: DH sleeps all the time! Why won't he get checked out??

My DH is 26, healthy.. the only thing is he seems to need to nap, all the time. He has one every day, like has been asleep since 8 this evening, and will possibly sleep through now. Also sometimes all afternoon at the weekend. He has a reasonably challenging job, a 10 minute commute on his bike to work.

His mum is anaemic, was wondering if it is likely to run in the family. He has known this for a year now, and still hasn't got himself a blood test. I am feeling so frustrated with him, particularly as am due to give birth any minuite, and just feel like I can't rely on him to be awake for me now!

He says he can't help being tired.. but this extent just can't be normal can it??

My ex was always sleeping - I think I eventually concluded that he was totally bored with life, me, the tv and everything. He even slept through the hurricane in '87! But he rose to the occasion when our dd's were born, took his turn at the weekends, let me catch up on sleep - but when they got older and slept through the night, he reverted back to the sleeping person we all knew from old. So there is hope!

I'd definitely make him get checked out if anaemia runs in the family. A simple blood test could show if he's not got enough iron... I always find that doing exercise actually gives me MORE energy though. Maybe you could coax him to do some more exercise and see if that helps?

my dh is like this too, sleeps as soon as he sits down, but he does have a lot of health related issues. tbh though, I suspect he would probably be like this even witouth the problems.

Irrationally, I find it very annoying. Sympathetic, eh? Grin

Oh gosh...same prob here. Falls asleep while driving, in church, on the couch, sitting up, lying down,... he's never gotten checked either... its quite frustrating. He did awesome during labor. He only had to take a nap once when my contractions weren't too bad yet. Would love to know if you ever find anything out about your dh. Oh and btw mine is 25 too.
