My DD wakes up around 3ish every night for a BF, then again between 5 and 6ish. I desperately want her to sleep through the night. I had no problems with my first 2 DD's they slept through from about 8 weeks, however that was 14 years ago and maybe I've just forgot what to do! DD3 is EBF and we just started BLW. Any suggestions? Any similar experiences?

I think it's common for babies of that age to wake - bear in mind she's waking for a feed, she's hungry, she needs you.

I think you were very lucky with your older dds - I think it's very unusual for babies to sleep through from such a young age.

I'd wait til she's well established on solids so you can be confident she's not waking out of hunger. If you LO is feeding properly at 3am not just snacking or comfort sucking, she is hungry.

For us this meant abandoning BLW- our dd just wasn't eating anything! (I didn't stop BLW to get her to sleep through, I must stress, but because I wanted her to eat more- she's quite little). FWIW at nearly 10 months she is now super keen to eat with her hands, so spoon feeding doesn't seem to have had any negative impact.
