1st night in big bed - great no problems - but how to handle naps

My Ds 2.4yrs spent first night in a bed last night, was very good, slept through till 6.30am - which is about usual.

He always has about 1 1/2 hours in day - actually thining of dropping it but not yet as he still needs a bit.

So how to handle day sleeps - he had gone up, not getting out of bed now but have heard footsteps every now and then Hmm. Don't wanna get him back up as there will be hell to pay at bedtime (once you have done something once with him, he seems to think its the law!).

How have your DC's managed day naps in a bed? Any advice?

Having typed all this its all gone quiet upstairs, but to scared to go and peep yet incase i disturb him Grin

we did "quiet time" instead, for some reason ds did not want to "sleep". so we cuddled up on his bed, reading a book and then I told him to stay in bed for quiet time. he fell asleep after a few minutes.

thanks mousymouse - think i need to just adjust they way i approach it, thanks. Will try that tomorrow, bless him he did go to sleep, think i tend to assume the worst of him just because he's a little bugger independant toddler!

My DS went into a bed at 19 months and has always been happy to nap in it as he always did. He has a stairgate on his door. It is very rare for him to get up and if he does, he normally just potters to door, and goes back to bed.

thanks bikerunski - am considering a stair gate on door, have one at top of stairs but think i would be happier to leave him to it if i knew he couldn't get much further than his bedroom.

having said all that he didn't come out his room, and is now fast asleep. Think i was just worrying that i might have lost my bit of peace in the day!
