5 month old dd terrified of her cot help

She won't even go in it at all and is hysterical when we even go to put her in it. One minute she was fine, sleeping quite well and then we put her in it a couple of days ago, she cast a terrified look around grabbede hold of her sheet, froze and just went nuts. really weird.

Anybody else had this experience?

Can she go in her cot in her Moses basket? So her immediate surrounds are familiar and then transition so that she moves out of her Moses basket over the course of a week and into the cot?

she really is to big for her moses basket now but i might give it a go for a couple of nights. She was sleeping fine inn her cot since about 3 months but something has freaked her out in it I think.

misstequila i can see us doing that as well with her

Oh, sorry - so she WAS OK w her cot. Hmm, moses basket tip might not be that helpful, then. Can you lie either outside of the cot next to her (or even get in it w her - I could until too pregnant can get into DD's cot bed w her, and had to when a 15 minute attempt at controlled crying spooked her and she became terrified we would leave her at bed time), and softly sing/hum nursery rhymes?

Does it have a drop down side that you can lower, put her in, sing etc (so no barrier between you), then raise when she is asleep?
