At the moment my ds is sleeping on me then transferred to his rocker in the lounge with me during the day and evening until we go to bed after his last feed.
Should I be putting him down upstairs in his room now?
He doesnt self settle which I thought was normal for this age etc.
He cant even be rocked to sleep in his chair or patted and hushed. Do I need to work on this?
We have a good feeding routine but minus that we dont have sleeping routine.
He sleeps well at night but I wonder if he would sleep better in his cot during the day?

He sleeps in our room in his crib. I'll be moving him to his own room after xmas I think so am thinking to get him used to it put him down for naps there?

Oh its all so confusing. I am also thinking its all too much we'll just cuddle and stay as we are.

Ahh help please!!!

i got DD to nap in cot in bedroom at 5m, before mainly slept on me or sometimes in moses, advice is to keep them with you till 6m

My DS is 10 weeks and he will nap where ever he's put down during the day. Sometime he goes in his cot, especially if I've got things to do as the baby monitor is in the bedroom, other times in the moses basket.

We try to put him down in the evening in his cot, but it's not overly successful (mainly because he's not good at settling in the evening). However we do live in a one bed flat, so its all on one level. I might feel differently if the bedroom was further away...

Thank you for your replies. He will definitely be in with us until 6m. Daytime naps I dont mind where as much as I need him to sleep anywhere tbh. Had a chat with HV and discussed it with DP. This is the plan- we are introducing bedtime slowly, holding to sleep then popping him upstairs with the monitor on and checking him often. Also going to tank him up earlier. He will sleep a 6 hour stretch at night. Im also going to get a gro bag for him. Any ideas where I can get a cheapish one? Tia :)

ebay, primark or TKMaxx - got two great ones from Ebay for £2 and a 1 tog one from TKMaxx for £10 instead of twenty.

My wee one is twelve weeks and has only very recently started sleeping for about 6 hours at night. she naps downstairs in the daytime and we have been putting her down in darkened bedroom at night and giving her a bottle of expressed milk which has helped her sleep more.

Her natural bedtime is about 11pm, but we will be trying to bring this forward slowly over the next month.

My LO is 6 weeks tomorrow. He takes his naps in a moses in my lounge during the day. Have a tiny, tiny house so can go to the kitchen/ upstairs to do jobs etc and still hear him.

However, since day 1 we have been doing bath, feed, cuddle, bed in nightlit own room by 7pm. I swear he already associates his nursery with sleep and even when he's had a really overstimulating day the routine has enabled us to get him off to sleep. He can self settle in his cotbed (although not 100% hit rate) and only wakes once in the night.

Why do you think you should put LO to sleep in own room for naps in the day but they should sleep with you at night? That is a genuine question- as the loser who never read any books I just assumed the other way round was sensible...

I do know about SIDS co-sleeping etc btw. My LOs bed is at most 4m away from mine and it's a risk I'm knowingly taking.
