What do you do when both of your children wake in the night?

I am asking as my 2.1 yo who is normally a good sleeper, has started waking up in the night again over the past few nights.

I've been pretty tired, and it made me think of when he was a baby.

Then I thought, what would I do if I had another baby already, and he or she woke up too/needed feeding/changing etc.

What do you do?

We take one each, only works if you have a DP/H though, alternatively when my DH has been travelling on business it's one arm/knee each ... we only have 2 ... am not sure how you deal with 3+ thought Grin

when gecko was a baby and dd2 was 2 they were both waking up

dd2 would wake and she just wanted to be in my bed and more often than not gecko would wake up too

we coslept so it would be three in a bed and gecko feeding to sleep every two hours

now they are 5 and 3 and dd2 has night terrors and gecko has once gone 9 hours at night Shock

so I still feel like I never sleep

did you know they are not allowed to use sleep deprivation as a form of torture anymore...

*though not thought, sigh

when I say we coslept, I meant gecko and I but I would just bring dd2 in to be able to manage

Panic! DH works nightshift and my 2 DC have a 14mo gap between them. When they were both babies it was a nightmare as they shared a tiny room. I would just never let the oldest come in the bed with me and would try and settle her in her own bed. The youngest would be brought in and end up sleeping with me.

I still remember the cold sweat it would bring out in me hearing the 2nd one wake up and think oh shit, here we go.

They are both pretty good now though in seperate rooms. Crap for a short time but you get through it. Wink
