My ds has been a relatively good sleeper - probably from about 18 months he has generally slept through for about 12 hours. He even made the cot to bed transition relatively well, and normally goes to sleep by himself after we have left the room.
Anyway, for the past few nights, he has been getting straight out of bed, with all his toys in his arms and going "Mummy's bed" and trying to get in my bed. I really don't want to let him do this so I have tried getting him back in his bed, but he has been having all sorts of tears and tantrums, so last night and the night before I gave in and let him fall asleep in my bed and then carried him through. Last night he woke up at 1.30am, so I settled him back in his bed and he went back to sleep but woke again at 2.30am!
Tonight I decided that I was going to be firm and leave him at bedtime, but he was up and wandering about his room for ages so I went in to settle him and he just kept saying "Mummy's bed".
I ended up taking the bed guard off and just lying beside him for a while. I eventually left when he was looking sleepy.
Anyway I am just wondering if anyone knows why he suddenly seems to need me to get to sleep? He started saying "Mummy's bed" before I had ever let him fall asleep in there so it's not as if that's the reason. It's also strange that he has been waking in the night?
My only thoughts are that his back teeth are coming through and that he might be in pain, but I gave him calpol about an hour before bed tonight.
