Hi there
You can use baby duvets after they are a year old.
my ds is 17mths and he has a sleeping bag all year round-he feels the cold bless him

Don't really see the relevence of weight. DS used his through his second winter definitely and I'm sure DD will also do so. Also DS's first winter in a bed he kept knocking the covers off so he ended up in a summer sleeping bag with the duvet over which seemed to prevent it sliding. That sleeping bag is currently been worn by DD but says 110 cm in the label and DS is barely that at age 4 1/2.

Bedding from 12 months - but keeping it there depends on the child.

My ds is 2 and still uses a (large) sleeping bag. He is a cover-kicker-offer, so it makes sense

I'm sure it would be fine to use bedding in a couple of months - if you thought he would keep it on. Weight is not an issue imo.

DD is cover kicker offer so when cool (as now) I put her in a normal set of PJs and then she climbs into a fleecy all in one rather than a wriggle bag.

Ds in a wriggle bag.

Can't wait until DD starts to stay under her duvet (she's 3)

I just ordered one from JojoMaman that's for children up to 4 years.

DD is 2.2 and absolutely LOVES hers - she even calls it her 'GroGro' and brings it out when she's ready to sleep.

Seona1973 · 27/08/2005 22:34

this website does grobags up to age 6 so you could use tham up to this age if you wanted.

We stopped grobags at 18 months when dd outgrew her 6-18 months grobag.

We used a sleeping bag for ds2 till he was nearly 2 1/2. Then couldn't get one to fit him. Now he wakes us up every night as he's cold. Don't think he'd entertain a bag now though.

Was wondering if the straps that hold a duvet in place would work?? Anyone know?

you can use a sleeping bag until they dobt fit anymore!

gribag make an extra large size that fits from about 3 - 5/6 years (dep on child) so if you really want to can use one until then i suppose!

I guess a good time to cahnge is when they move from cot to bed... but as long as the child is warm and happy, it doesnt really matter!

The main issue I can see is when they are night time trained for the toilet and might need to get up to use a potty/tiolet.
