4 month sleep regression or slowly losing my mind...

dd is just 16weeks old- but since 13/14 weeks has become a nightmare sleeper.... going from bf to sleep and minimum of 6 hours sometimes even 8, to waking every 90 mins, SCREAMING, until at 4am i pull her into bed with me. Last night was different entirely, as I couldn't even settle her to start with. Put her down at 8pm, woke 8.30, put her down again 9pm, woke 9.05pm, down again 10pm, woke 10.30.... you get the picture.

Now she does have reflux- we are currently playing with the dosage of infant gaviscon to strike the balance between managing her sickness and avoiding constipation, but even at its worse the reflux didn't disturb her this much. Is this the 4 month regression- if so how long does it last as we seem to be in week 3 of crappy sleep getting worse.... I have just read NCSS and wanted to put a sleep plan in place, but am reluctant to do so while she is so unsettled....

any help thoughts appreciated...

We are all battling it too!

Can't help, but can offer sympathy...

My DD was a great sleeper too from 8 weeks until around week 15. It has got progressively worse since then. We do have the odd good night (or few nights) here and there, but I just had one of the crappiest nights sleep since she was a newborn and DD is 21 weeks. I can't see and end to this yet. She has gone from waking once between 8pm and 8am to waking 3 times Sad She doesn't have reflux of anything like that, she just seems to be hungry/unsettled a lot. Bedtimes have also gone to pot and it can take anything between 1 and 2 hours from the start of the routine...

I wouldn't bother trying any sort of sleep training tbh, as it doesn't seem to work whilst they are in this regression period (or not in my experience anyway)

Am hoping this will pass in the very near future as DD will be 5 months in a few days...

Good luck and I hope it passes soon for you!

It's normal. You just have to roll with the punches. This why babies are hard work. :)
