Controlled crying once in a bed

Has anyone got any advice on trying to use controlled crying once their child is in a bed? Our daughter refuses to sleep in her own bed during the day and night and everytime we leave the room she simply climbs off of the bed and tells us how naughty she is!!! We've let her sleep in with us for a bit of extra comfort to see if that works but the next day is exactly the same with an endless battle. Should we put her back in a cot at 22 months or is this unfair? Advice please as i'm exhausted.

How did last night go ?

Teletubby · 29/07/2003 20:02

Well, after Sunday night (50 mins of crying) she woke up twice in the night because she fell off of the mattress but was really easy to re-settle. Monday night she cried all the way through the story but once i left settled after the first part of the controlled crying. Tonight she lay peacefully whilst i read the story but at the end of it started requesting another so i told her she could have another tomorrow night and that i would come and check on her later "night night etc" she screamed for 10 minutes (we've put the bed back together now) and she didn't climb down and touchwood is fast asleep so it's worked really really well. Thank you all for your advice and support oh and by the way she's also settling really well for her lunch time nap too.

Fab news teletubby - it is like magic - they sleep at night, they get up later, they nap peacefully and they are cheery...
