Ds is waking so many times when he loses his dummy. It cant be doing him any good having so much broken sleep.

Im thinking cold turkey..this will involve tears though.

Any ideas or experiences appreciated pls

You might find some handy tips in this article:

My baby wakes for the dummy

We had one of the Sleepytot comforters which solved the problem of the dummy waking but I think that at 4.5 months your LO is probably too young for it. x

Hi there - I have the same problem with my 7mo little one. hippyhippy - how old was your LO when you introduced the Sleepytot?

Bobby99 · 07/08/2010 21:20

Sorry bippyhippy, just realised I misread your name - tired...

Hi I took the dummy away at 9 months the same reason you want to give the dummy up, waking when they lose it out of the mouth, I tryed the sleepy to and lots of dummies scattered around the cot then I decided I'd had enough and went cold turkey, few tears for 3 nights then slept through then onwards apart from periods of teething...
I rang my health visiter who is loverly and she said when they wake up DO NOT PICK Up and just stoke there head..rub there back.
As your baby is 4.5 months he may be waking up because he's hungry ! But the earlier you give up the dummy the easier it is..

Hi Bobby99. My LO was 6 months. I think 7 months would be ok, just get the smaller size.

I really rate the Sleepytot and I know others do to. You can get the small ones from Asda aswell. Here's the link:

hi thinking of getting the tot to try..which size do you think is best? wondered if the bigger one would be easier to find?
