My ds has had no real routine ..he is my third so had to be dragged along to various things so hard to set sleep times etc.

So far i have gone with the flow usually a nap a 9ish then another somewhere in the day midday ideally but can be later.

He was then falling asleep usually from feeding or cuddles betwenn 830-10pm..and mostly sleeping through sometimes one feed.

The last week or two he has not been going to sleep in the evening until late takes ages to get to sleep then often awake again shortly after..last two nights have been sleep 1hr ish feed sleep a bit more 1-2hr bit more boob etc

Still awake now which is his latest yet!

Any suggestions..he is generally a very happy baby but once it gets to late evening like now he is not so happy but wont sleep!

This is a new one to me first 2dcs always slept well and settled well from awake..think i may have caused the prob by mostly feeding /cuddling to sleep..these no longer work

I am having the same problem with my 18 week old dd. She too was settling fairly well at night, about 8.30pm, and was sleeping through till 5 or 6am. This has all gone out the wondow over the last week or two and she is taking ages to settle at night - appears to be asleep but wakes crying after 10 mins and will not calm down again - and is waking more often through the night (sometimes before midnight )
See my oter post on bedtimes taking 2 hours!!

To be honest, I think it's partly to do with their age and the developmental spurt they are going through. My DH gave me a lecture last night on how I am over-analysing everything and quite rightly said 'she is a BABY and not a machine!'

I have now got a book called the WOnder Weeks which says that around this time babies will become more fussy. I am hoping my dd has read the book as it says things should settle down by about week 20-22

Am hoping for a better night tonight...
