5 month ols sleeing on his tummy

My 5 month old has just started to roll on to his tummy. He does this constsntly whilst awake but also whilst asleep. He can't roll back onto his back yet. Obviously worried about SIDS and spening all night checking if he is on his tummy and flipping him back over. 5 mins later he is back on his tummy. Any advice appreciated and should I be quite so worried.

Leave him on his tummy.
If he can roll onto his front he is old enough to lift his head and to yell for you if he needs to turn over.
As long as you are otherwise low risk for SIDs, he isn't sleeping on a second hand mattress etc I would just leave him.

My DD did the same as soon as she could roll and will only sleep on her side now. HV said just to let her as she is strong enough to turn and will cry if uncomfortable. If you are really worried there are baby monitors that go underneath the mattress with an alarm on them i think. I'm sure someone else will know what I mean!

Thanks. Also apologise for spelling. Baby rolling on play mat next to me.

DD did this too so we got an Angelcare monitor with sensor pad so that I could get some sleep!

My little one has slept on his tummy since about 10 days old - now he's 5mths too.
