does anyone have a 22 month old that doesn't nap during the day??
My dd2 is 22 months and fights daytime naps on a regular basis. When she does nap it's normally for an hour, but then she takes forever to settle at night when she goes to bed and doesn't seem at all tired.
A friend of mine said her dd dropped her daytime nap at 22months but slept 12 hours at night.
Today dd slept for 10 mins in the car on the way back from swimming and lasted all day pretty happily and went to bed at 7pm.... She has gone a few days before without any sleep and seems to manage ok, although sometimes a few days later she seems to need to catch up.

My ds did this, just before he dropped the nap for good. He does sleep better at night now though!

My ds has just turned 2 and i have finally given up on daytime naps completely as he has for past few months been either not sleeping and just playing in his room, watching cars out his window, emptying his wardrobe etc or if he did sleep in the day would then not sleep til 9 or 10 at night, despite being put to bed at 7. So for the last week i have not been putting him down at all in the day, he's been getting very sleepy around 5 and a couple of times has fallen asleep on the floor but ive woken him up and he was fine and going straight to sleep at night. apart from last night when he didnt have a nap, played til half 8/9 and still woke up at 7! So today after very exciting party in the morning i put him to bed at 1 looking exhausted but he didnt sleep at all so eventually i gave up. He slept for no more than 10 mins in the car about 4o'clock and now tonight did not go to sleep til 9, I give up!!

My dd also stopped wanting naps at 2, i kept trying for a long time after as i was pregnant, exhausted stressed and depressed and needed afternoon naps myself but if she did sleep it wasnt til 4 or 5 in my bed with me and then wouldnt sleep at night.
S**t ds has just woken up!! back soon!

DS1 stopped naps at 18 months.

DS2 (nearly 21 months) still naps most days - but only because I make him - I'll probably stop putting him down for one once DS1 starts nursery - but ATM I value my 'freedom' at that time too much

HI
Only to say I ahve the same problem - same age. he only sleeps evry other day or so & if he does have a lunchtime nap, then he is delightufl all afternoon but then wakes at about 5 in the morning ready to start the day (like this morning....). if he has no daytime nap he is horrendous all afternnon but sleeps unti maybe 6am if we are lucky.
I wish I knew what the answer was too - am telling myself 'it's just a phase' but though gritted teeth & with huge bags under my eyes!!

ds didn't want a nap more than about once a fortnight at this age. He would rest in his cot for an hour after lunch though. Gave that up recently and I've got to say that 12 continuous hours of him is a lot.

My ds, who is 19 months, has between 1 and 2 hours sleep after lunch, I always wake him by 2.30pm and make sure I run him around lots in the pm so that he's (hopefully) asleep by 7.30 and wakes about 6.30 or 7ish. He will only sleep in his cot though, has a max of 45 mins in the car and zero in a puchchair!

I love it when he has his sleep it give me time to recharge and plan the rest of the day!
