It is a very small town? I quite like wandering around the town looking at the shops if not skiing, wondered if there was much to look at!

Also, is it easy to get to Samoens?

Been once, years ago. I seem to remember walking to Samoens on a non skiing day, it's about 3 miles.

It's more of a big village really, enough to fill an hour of wandering, but Samoens much bigger and nice place to do some shopping/people watching. Its a really easy and very pretty walk into Samoens along a forest trail by the river side, or at least it was very easy in the summer!! Probably takes about 50 mins. We've stayed in Morillon in both winter and summer in two different chalets, and its a lovely quiet resort with a couple of good bars and restaurants. Morillon 1100 is a different place altogether and is a purpose built ski resort where the main lifts all go from. There is a bubble lift from Morillon village which is really quick and easy and didn't seem to ever have huge queues. All in all a real gem of a place!

It's lovely! Morillon itself is small and pretty - not that much to see/shop TBH, but Samoens is fab and free skibus runs between them (about 5-10 mins). Skiing is great - as headless says, the bubble goes up to 1100 / Les Esserts from Morillon village itself. In good conditions you can ski back down to village - one red and one blue. Sis is ther now and the runs are open though the snow does have to be pretty good. I've been 5 times, with family and taking school trips and - as you can tell - remain really keen! Currently 23 weeks with number one, so planning NEXT years trip, when s/he will check out the childrens village creche at 1100!!!
Enjoy your skiing.
