Sunglasses with a ski helmet

I'm planning to try a ski helmet for the first time. As a fair weather skier I don't own any goggles at the moment but am imagining my current (ski) sunglasses could rub my sensitive little ears inside a helmet!

So, do you think I need to buy some goggles (if so any suggestions on what should I look out for?) or am I obsessing far too much? Thanks

If you're buying your own helmet (rather than renting), I'd suggest to take it with you when you buy the goggles. I bought a ski helmet this year and could not fit my existing goggles with them, had to get new ones. However my helmet is a kiddie sized one, so perhaps you would be ok if you have a more normal sized skull!

DH wore his sunglasses with his new helmet this year without problems. I tried mine briefly and they were a bit tight over the ears, however not that bad. I think I would have persisted with sunglasses if the new goggles hadn't been so comfortable.

Thanks for that - sounds promising. I'll prob rent a helmet this year and then make a decision whether to buy in future.

If I could I would like to avoid having to buy goggles in the resort as they will cost loads but didn't want to buy in advance especially if fit can be an issue.

I last wore goggles years ago so they are probably far comfier now anyway.
