Any ski holidays with a Sunday changeover?

Christmas day is a Saturday this year and I don't think DC would appreciate travelling then to go skiing for new year. So the next best thing is to go Boxing Day. I guess a few people will be in this position. Are there any companies that do Sundays?

Esprit.
Total

tulpe · 05/01/2010 20:20

Esprit definitely do Sundays.

Have you tried Ski Famille or Venture Ski? Have heard good things about both of those companies on here.

Snowbizz do a Sunday changeover. There's also quite a few independent chalets in Morzine that do Sunday changeovers.

chicaguapa · 05/01/2010 20:43

Thanks. I shall keep looking then. The other advantage to Sunday changeovers is that the slopes are so quiet on Saturday.

Yes I always like a Saturday ski too Always seems so much more relaxing when you have so much space on the piste and non-existent lift queues

GothDetective · 05/01/2010 21:31

Yes and the airports are quieter on Sundays.

IwishIwasmoreorganised · 05/01/2010 21:39

Lots of independents are doing mid week for next Christmas. I'm trying to find out how that will fit in with ski school.

tulpe · 05/01/2010 21:42

I wish - yes I have seen that and Esprit too are now doing any day of the week starts and long weekends at some of their hotels. However, like you I did wonder how you sort that out with ski school (altho in adult classes I have known people to just be there for a few days/start mid-week rather than for an entire 5 day course).

sowhatitsonlysnow · 05/01/2010 21:42

Why not book direct and do you own thing?

BikeRunSnowflake · 05/01/2010 21:43

www.actionmountain.com do Sunday changeovers.

liath · 05/01/2010 22:18

Snowline do sundays.

CaurnieBred · 06/01/2010 09:33

Le Ski do Sundays too

sandk · 06/01/2010 12:55

Family Friendly Skiing is another with Sunday changeovers.

MrLSG · 06/01/2010 22:22

No operator will do a changeover on Xmas day.

From what I've seen, they are all changing dates for Xmas 2010, so Christmas and New-year weeks will be sun-sun (or mon-mon, or even tue-tue), and there will be a cheap shorter week for sun-sat (or mon-sun/tue-sun) for the first (maybe second) week in Jan.

greygirl · 07/01/2010 11:31

you could do 10 days in north america and depart the wednesday before christmas [collapse in blissful dreams of 10 days skiing AND being away from christmas madness emoticon]

Kiwinyc · 07/01/2010 15:21

ski2.com who specialise in Champoluc, Italy, accommodate changeovers on any day and we just did a Sun-Sun over Xmas.

chicaguapa · 07/01/2010 19:28

Will hold tight then and see what dates they all come up with. Thanks.

Family Friendly skiing do a Sunday - they are such a great company, I would really recommend them!

DaisyFitz · 14/02/2010 20:43

zenith do them - depends on resorts, but you can book whatever dates you want.

Hi, Just got back from a great holiday in Courchevel with Mark Warner. The changeover day was a Sunday.
