Long shot but does anyone know any accomodation in CHAMONIX that may be available tomorrow night for 5 nights?

For 4 people, and as dirt cheap as possible.

Long story, but basically dh promised his nephew's friends a skiing holiday for doing our bathroom. He left the accomodation til the last minute (eg the night before they left ) and managed to get a hostel for the first two nights.

He thought they would pick something up for the rest of the week while they were over there, but everything is full...

So I get the job of trawling the internet looking for somewhere, hence this plea!

I am tempted to redirect you to this thread but fear it would be out of your budget

however, as a side effect, I have bumped your thread...

Wallace · 26/02/2009 20:30

Thank you

Should I send the link to dh do you think!

I fear it would make it a very expensive bathroom Wallace....

choosyfloosy · 26/02/2009 20:34

TBH you need a travel agent!

You could also try Chez Nous which dh's parents use a lot?

What about a cheaper place within a bus ride of a resort? Is Brides-les-Bains within reach of Chamonix? (no idea but read an article on it this weekend)

harpomarx · 26/02/2009 20:40

this place appears to be empty at the moment - maybe you could negotiate something for a few nights?

Wallace · 26/02/2009 20:46

Thanks choosyfloosy, browsing now

That looks ideal harpo. And weirdly identical to a place dh, I and the kids stayed in for a couple of nights a few years ago!

hope it works out, Wallace - and maybe your dh can treat you to the other one some other time!

Wallace · 26/02/2009 20:51

Yes please

Just tried to phone dh, and no answer. I bet when I do get through to him he has it all sorted anyway...

Probably too late now but try here some friends booked and stayed here at last minute for half-term and said it was good.

But it is a 30 min shuttle away.

Kiwinyc · 26/02/2009 22:41

Oh crap, sorry didn't read the subject properly, I just posted a link for accommodation at Meribel! Oops, sorry, carry on as you were!

Hope you have found something!

This palce is available from Sunday;

www.chaletpt.com/Prices_booking.10.0.html

I've stayed there before and its nice.

The owner will do part-week rentals if he only wants it from Sun-Weds or similar. Still leaves the problem of tomorrow and Sat night I guess. Might be worth ringing the owner (Sam) as he's very helpful and may have an idea.

Wallace · 01/03/2009 19:14

Thanks for all the help. In the endhe got somewhere without my help

Oh dear - I wish I had checked this post earlier. I have a lovely appartment in the centre of Chamonix which I rent out. It costs £400 per week (sleeps 8) If people want part weeks - just divide by the number of nights you wanted. You'll have to remember me next time!

Wallace · 04/03/2009 15:03

We might be going out as a family in April, so we will definitely remember you, sounds fantastic!
