Hi!

We are off to Verbier with a 12month old. We are staying in a chalet.(chalet berbou)
I have never been to Verbier before, does anyone have any advice at all? No idea what we will need really, having only been skiing once before - minus baby..
Not sure whether to take a pushchair, or try and hire one out there, or get one of those backpacks..
Any advice would be welcomed!
Going to try and get her an all in one snow suit, i hear H&M are good and well priced.
Got her some waterproof boots (shes just started walking)
The in laws are coming along and not skiing so we have babysitters (yay!)
Is there much to do there?

Thanks

Madness. I didn't take DD when we went to Verbier when she was 16 months. Lots of hills in town, if it's snowy the buggy will be a complete waste of time. There is nothing to do in Verbier. Boring as hell.

Sorry.

oh well, i guess she will be staying in the chalet with the inlaws for the week! will take a lot of toys.
good job its catered!
couldnt face leaving her at home, she is still breastfeeding.
It says there is an ice rink at Verbier, do yo know how big it is? I do a lot of ice skating.

I left DD for 11 days - she was still breastfeeding a lot and it just resumed straight away (had footballs in my jumper in Verbier though).

Ice rink is huge but very cold. Only semi covered IIRC.

you might be able to hire a sleddy thing in resort for the PIL to tow her round on, which will save them being completely chalet-bound

Hello,

We have a 8 month old and have taken her to the mountains a few times. Its fine as long as you prepare.

She should be head to toe in wool. Merlino for the base and wool suit over. U can also get sleeping bags that go in the buggy. I live in Norway so I don't know if you can get that in the UK. I've noticed merino wool starting to be sold in snow and rock the last few yr, but not sure for babies.

Norwegian site, www.barnashus.no/?gclid=CIeFt-uiwJgCFQFbtAodMHVQZw.
if you go to google.no and search u will find others.

U could use a Baby Bjørn overtrekk and forget the buggy. If you are walking with the baby you should get these for your feet. www.yaktrax.com/ that way u wont be slipping on ice.

If you want a buggy, The resort might have something similar to ours, i.e. large inflatable wheels with a brake. www.barnevognguiden.no/trends-for-kids-tfk/tfk-joggster-twist.html

You baby fully wrapped up will be fine in anything upto -10. Ours sleeps out in that.

Good luck.
