So the kids are going with friends next year so DH and I are going on our own for us first time in years!

If you were to go somewhere "reasonable" and it wasn't France (only because that's where we always go!) but is in Europe and to stay in a cheapish hotel rather than self catering, where would YOU go?!!
Thanks!!

Andermatt
Ischgl
St Anton
Champery/ Port du Soleil
Davos

I don't know about cheapish hotels though.

Obviously also depends on what you like and how you ski. Obviously we're into powder.

I know you said no France but Chamonix too.

How good are you? I love some of the Swiss resorts as the skiing is harder. If you are going out of school hols it might be cheaper.

If not I’d go to St Anton or St Christoph.

Italy is very reasonable. For large piste areas look at the milky way (e.g. Sauze d'Oulx, Sestriere), or the dolomites (e.g. Val Gardener, Cortina, Arraba). Only if you are mainly a piste skier though - off piste without a guide is normally prohibited.

In Austria I like Lech, Obertauern, St Anton, Saalbach Hinterglemm and Ischgl
