A week's skiing - what's your packing list?

Travelling home from a week's skiing and, yet again, didn't feel as though I had enough or the right clothes. I don't remember this being such an issue in my 20s when we did chalet holidays as it used to be ski, bar and crash back to the chalet or ski, back for shower & dinner and then, if we went out later, I just wore the same pair of jeans all week.
Now, and yes, I'm aware my diamond shoes are too tight, we stay in a hotel and go out to nice restaurants for dinner. Everyone else is looking lovely & glossy and I just get dirtier & smellier as the week goes on!

I take two pairs of good jeans (not the ones I travel in). Two silk type shirts and 2/3 cashmere jumpers.

Oh and I do have a separate jacket, gloves and hat too — jacket I wear on the plane (if flying). I can’t bear my ski jacket smelling of cheese if I wear it out and about 😂

Pretty much this! Plus a couple of basic t shirts to wear under the cashmere jumpers. I also take a second coat if we drive and there’s space.

Inevitable Grin I embrace it but have a few very expensive fleeces and very fancy technical boots and sunglasses so that I'm at least expensive and sporty looking alongside smelly. I'd look like the goat's windswept cousin in cashmere since I'm far too lazy

Nice smelling shampoo and moisturisers help a bit...

We travel very light. I take a maxi skirt and a black silk shirt. A pair of black jeggings, plus a black polo neck that doubles as a ski top. A couple of other tops that work with the skirt and jeggings, plus a sleeveless top that layers over the silk shirt. I roll everything up. One pair evening shoes. We dine in our hotel, so no fancy winter wear needed. Après ski we wear our ski jacket and jeans.

I don’t pack light! No longer will a small case cut it. Extra jackets, nice jumpers, nice jeans, some accessories, total separation of ski wear and evening clothes I’d rather drag a big case to the airport. You should see how my French SIL travels, it ain’t light!

I’m worrying about this for 2025! We always go self catering and just potter about the apartment being dirty & smelly in the evenings, but we’ve just booked to go with friends… we all have our own apartment in the same complex building but I’m anticipating evening socialisation which I can’t do in my base layers… but equally we usually travel very light… good ideas above!

I wear jeans to travel in and take one extra pair. Then probably 5 tops of different weight and smartness - smart t-shirt, a couple of light jumpers, something vaguely blousy, something sweatshirty, and that's it. We go for a drink straight off the slopes, so still in ski wear, then back to the hotel or Air BnB, shower and change into whatever we're wearing for dinner. Casual all the way for us. And I've never felt out of place - anything goes in a ski resort, but I'd say err on the side of casual vs dressy.

I have an outfit to travel there and back in (usually tunic and leggings), then I take a nice pair of jeans and 3 tops (well usually 3 sets of top and T-shirt + vest to wear underneath). I’d I change tops every two days. In resort I’d go out in my snow boots, although I did treat myself to a nice pair.

ETA: one outfit to travel there in, and another outfit to travel back. Not the same one for both journeys!
