Skiing near Barcelona

We are contemplating doing a 10-14 day trip over Easter time incorporating a week skiing somewhere around Barcelona area. Has anyone skied in this area before?

We are a family of 4, kids are 12 and 9 and can both ski but the 12 year old is a better level. The 9 year old hasn’t done a great deal and would need easy runs and lessons still.

Any tips on resorts to loom into? We would drive from Barcelona to the resort stay a week then drive back for a 3/4 day city break.

Would also consider flying elsewhere and doing this but flights to Barcelona are reasonable compared with ski destinations currently.

Google gives this:
30 Ski Resorts near Barcelona Airport | J2Ski

Whether any of these is worth considering for a week or more, or whether there is even snow at any of these resorts at Easter is something I can't answer - try posting the same question on Snowheads.

We drove to Andorra from Barcelona. Took around 3 hours. Easter might be late though as not as snow sure as some other resorts.

I’ve done la molina for a couple days, it’s like 2 hours from Barcelona, it’s not a big French resort, it’s relatively small so wouldn’t want to do a week there…but you might be able to do more activities if you stay in the valley, like rafting, canoeing, rock climbing

We got a normal public bus to Andorra from Barcelona. I love Andorra.

I’ve skied in Andorra at Easter but you need to go high. Monitor the snow.

We’ve done Andorra quite a few times with a stop in Barcelona. It’s about a 3 hour drive. We’ve always gone at Easter and had decent snow but not guaranteed. I love it as it’s cheaper and less pretentious than some other resorts (in France/Switzerland).

We go to Formigal from Barcelona; there have not been much snow this year as it has been too hot in Spain; so not sure about Easter or how much English speakers you will find there though
