Solo skiing?

So I have an opportunity to go skiing in France for 3 days.

I'm already booked to go with friends in January but I have annual leave left over and DH ( who doesn't like skiing anyway) can't really do something else due to dog and teenage DS.

It's a sort of communal set up so meals are included. There might be the opportunity to ski with others but as a slow but competent skier I might be better on my own

I've been to the resort before there is a reasonable amount of easy skiing which is what I'd be doing.

Am I being silly to go alone? It's about the same cost as a couple of nights in a posh hotel in UK which feels like other option or going for a few days in the sun where I'm not sure what I'd do during the day.

OK things have calmed down a bit. DH still won't go without me but has realised what a shit set up it would be for me due to the remote location. So he's having another think and we are looking into changing the trip to go somewhere else. We will lose money on accommodation but not flights (which are very expensive, it's a long haul flight). We won't be with our friends but they all want to ski all day anyway, this is a group of people who love skiing, no one is gonna give that up to sit with me in a sad old lodge.

I’m going in my first ski holiday alone, any advise, is it way to make friend and interact?
