Recommendations for Skiing with young children

We are keen to book a skiing holiday next year, but we will have a 3 year old and a 5 year old. Probably looking to go around the February half term or just before.

Does anyone have any recommendations for family friendly places with maybe a kids club / kids facilities, and easy access to take to and from ski school.

Thanks in advance!

Could you share some further info and I’m sure someone will be able to help… budget, childcare preferences, your own skiing ability, do you prefer a travel operator or designing your own trip, any location preferences? Do you really need to go at half term or can you avoid it (advisable if you can for cost and sheer volume of people).

With two young DC and if your budget will stretch to it, I'd go with a family ski specialist. Family Ski, Ski Famille, Snowbizz, Esprit, etc, will just make your ski holiday super easy.

If the budget won't stretch to that, then I'd recommend a ski-in/ski-out resort like Arc 1950, where everything is really compact and convenient and where self-catering is easy, so you won't be traipsing around with DC and ski paraphernalia up and down roads, which is its own circle of hell.

Actually, looking at Snowbizz prices, they are very reasonable - almost certainly cheaper than anything you'll find to Arc 1950!

We’ve had a lot of family ski holidays. Definitely worth booking a specialist tour operator when kids are very small. My favourite was Snowbizz, and it’s cheapest too by a long way. If possible, don’t go to France in February. It’s cold and over crowded. March is perfect if you can go in term time. My favourite resorts for skiing with kids that age are Puy St Vincent and Avoriaz as all ski in and out and very family friendly.
If you have to go in February, I’d look outside France. I like TH Pila Hotel in Italy or for something a bit more upmarket the Kinderhotels are lovely.

We have had a lot of ski holidays with Ski Basics. I think they are great, and they offer kids dinner in their catered chalets, which makes my life so much easier, and the chalet hosts are excellent with kids!
